Run Activity Monitor.<br />2. Click the CPU tab to see all of the running processes.<br />3. Click the Process Name tab to sort and stabilize the list.<br />4. Scroll to locate the fsck_hfs process.<br />5. Click on fsck_hfs to select it.<br />6. Click the X in the upper left corner of the Activity Monitor window to quit the process.<br />7. The disk should immediately mount on the Desktop giving you access to your files. (Note: If you are running Disk Utility, you may first see an alert telling you Disk Utility cannot repair the drive. Dismiss the alert, and the volume will mount.)George A. You you try running: <br /> lsof | grep disk2s2<br /><br />That should show what has it open.<br /><br />The not enough memory error suggests that the drive is physically working, but the disk is too big for Disk Warrior to handle in the normal way. The only process you found was the grep command itself. try:<br /><br />ps -ef | grep fsck<br /><br />(i.e., without the _hfs). See if that shows anything more. What version of OSX are you running? From El Capitan onwards, I am not sure that the fsck process shows up in the process list.
